Skovby furniture is made from natural materials, selected with consideration and respect for nature, the environment, and people. Wood is one of the most sustainable and lasting resources that exist. Sustainable forests in Europe and North America are increasing. Wood that we obtain from such forests is replaced, supporting ecosystem diversity preservation. Our excess wood is used as fuel. All wood chips and shavings are utilized to heat our premises, contributing to a positive carbon-dioxide accounting and making up a valuable resource in our pursuit of carbon-neutral production.

The road from raw materials to production is short. Raw materials are transported efficiently between locations to and during production. Many raw materials are from neighboring areas – everything available locally is obtained and employed locally.

Fabric Upholstery Care

• Attend to spills immediately by blotting gently with a clean, dry cloth — never rub.
• For light stains, use a slightly damp cloth with mild, pH-neutral soap if recommended for the fabric
• Always test cleaning products on an inconspicuous area before use
• Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, or abrasive cleaners

Leather Upholstery Care

• Dust leather surfaces regularly with a soft, dry cloth
• Clean occasionally using a slightly damp cloth, then wipe dry
• Use only leather care products approved for furniture upholstery
• Condition leather periodically to maintain suppleness and prevent drying or cracking
• Avoid direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent discoloration and stiffness

General Recommendations

• Follow the specific care instructions provided for your chosen fabric or leather type
• Avoid sharp objects or clothing with rough surfaces that may damage upholstery
• Do not place heavy or sharp items on upholstered surfaces

Skovby furniture is built and designed for indoor use and is not suitable to be used outdoors. Exposing this furniture to the elements can cause damage to the piece.
