In 1945, Mogens Koch simplified the myriad of cross-pleats in Kaare Klint's Fruit lamp to create this more stringent lampshade design. The oval shape gives the lamp a more sedate expression, closely allied to traditional Chinese paper lamps. The enclosed shape makes it suitable for hanging from a high ceiling.
Located in Odense, Denmark, LE KLINT focuses on good craftsmanship and in-house production as branding cornerstones. World-renowned quality lighting results from techniques and traditions handed down from generation to generation, which are still carried out today by a broad team of highly skilled workers.

LE KLINT is synonymous with lampshades. Iconic, hand-folded shades take years of learning techniques and mastering many different pleating forms. Only then can a student test into certification to become part of the skilled team of Pleating Technicians. However, this is only a fraction of the procedure of each lamp. Specialist metal workers, woodworkers, and engineers play a big part in the magic of creating unique illuminated art. These tenets have gone hand-in-hand with the folding process since their genesis.

A dedicated LE KLINT team takes great pride in every aspect of the production, fitting, quality control, and shipment procedures to ensure each lamp is unique. In-house production facilities in Odense collaborate with skilled suppliers such as wood carvers, metal casters, and glass blowers, based in Denmark or internationally, with the main focus on quality as “the” guideline.
To clean the shades, you can use a handheld vacuum, a damp cloth, a feather duster, or a soft brush.

To remove the shades - follow instructions in the manual as you would fit or replace a lightbulb.

LE KLINT

LE KLINT is a lighting company established in 1943, but the story of the company dates back to the beginning of the 20th century when a hand pleated lamp shade was folded to fit a paraffin lamp both designed by architect and master of engineering P.V. Jensen-Klint. We have ever since maintained our original concept but we are constantly seeking to develop within modern times.
