The 223 Sax Lamp by Le Klint of Denmark was originally designed in 1952 by Erik Hansen. Its design and character offer both visual beauty and purposeful functionality. The Sax wall lamp is great over the nightstand, behind the sofa, next to the recliner, or anywhere your imagination takes you. Missing floor space? Not a problem. The sax floor lamp is a wall lamp. That means no floor space. A convenient on/off power cord allows the user to easily operate the light. The Sax arm offers 90 degrees of swivel (45 degrees left and right of center), while the pantograph, scissor-style hinge reaches 16 to 26 inches from the wall. The Sax Lamp has been copied and imitated, but there is only one original.
Located in Odense, Denmark, LE KLINT focuses on good craftsmanship and in-house production as branding cornerstones. World-renowned quality lighting results from techniques and traditions handed down from generation to generation, which are still carried out today by a broad team of highly skilled workers.

LE KLINT is synonymous with lampshades. Iconic, hand-folded shades take years of learning techniques and mastering many different pleating forms. Only then can a student test into certification to become part of the skilled team of Pleating Technicians. However, this is only a fraction of the procedure of each lamp. Specialist metal workers, woodworkers, and engineers play a big part in the magic of creating unique illuminated art. These tenets have gone hand-in-hand with the folding process since their genesis.

A dedicated LE KLINT team takes great pride in every aspect of the production, fitting, quality control, and shipment procedures to ensure each lamp is unique. In-house production facilities in Odense collaborate with skilled suppliers such as wood carvers, metal casters, and glass blowers, based in Denmark or internationally, with the main focus on quality as “the” guideline.
To clean the shade, use a handheld vacuum, a damp cloth, a feather duster, or a soft brush to remove dust and debris.

To remove the shade, follow the instructions in the manual.

Erik Hansen

In 1952 Erik Hansen designed the first Sax (scissor) lamp for LE KLINT. For many people, the classic lines and texture of the paper shade and natural wood are synonymous with LE KLINT.
Over many years, the Sax lamp's production has included an upward and downward facing shade in multiple wood species. Today this lamp is available in light oak, black oak, and smoked oak.
The Sax lamp has been copied by many, but there is only one original.

LE KLINT is a lighting company established in 1943, but the story of the company dates back to the beginning of the 20th century when a hand pleated lamp shade was folded to fit a paraffin lamp both designed by architect and master of engineering P.V. Jensen-Klint. We have ever since maintained our original concept but we are constantly seeking to develop within modern times.
