Ekornes is one of Europe's largest consumers of leather. They purchase quality leather from selected tanneries all over the world. An Ekornes inspector takes part in the leather selection, which is conducted in accordance with international norms for quality determination. The experience they have gained from this work benefits you when you buy Stressless or Ekornes leather furniture.
Ekornes Stressless leather is manufactured according to current laws, guidelines, and recommendations relating to their utilization properties, and for the use and content of chemicals and other substances. They coordinate with recognized international institutions in this line of business to ensure that we are updated at all times on issues relating to health, safety, and the environment.
Cori is a corrected, pigment-improved, and grain-embossed upholstery leather. Cori has a substantial body and a distinct, pebbled grain. Most of its natural marks are removed. Cori has a tip-shine, which adds depth and character to its surface appearance. Some colors have a two-toned or tone-on-tone effect. A protective layer of lacquer simplifies cleaning. Cori is a wise choice for its excellent wear properties, robust structure, and exclusive look. See all Cori Colors
Paloma is a slightly corrected leather with a combination of dyes and pigments that smoothes down some of the structure (the grain pattern) of the leather. However, the grain structure in Paloma may vary slightly from one area of the furniture to another, and minor color nuances may also appear in the leather. Natural marks, scars, and insect bites are natural and will appear in Paloma. A thin coat of lacquer gives Paloma some protection and simplifies cleaning, but Paloma does not have the same heavy-duty quality and protection as Batick and Cori. Due to its soft, natural, and comfortable expression, Paloma is a very popular choice. See all Paloma Colors
Noblesse is the most exclusive leather quality offered by Ekornes. It is a full grain semi-aniline, which means that it is dyed all the way through and has only a thin protective topcoat. This allows the leather to keep the natural softness and luster that characterizes first-class furniture leather. A natural material like Noblesse retains its original grain and structure. Minor color nuances and skin blemishes may also occur. Such individual details could lead to slight variations in different parts of the furniture cover. Although the topcoat provides a measure of protection, Noblesse is the most delicate of the leather qualities that Ekornes uses. It absorbs moisture easily and is more vulnerable to wear and tear heat, sunlight, spills, and perspiration. Regular maintenance is important to keep its attractive appearance. As leather is a natural product, color nuances are normal and colors might vary slightly from one product to another. The leather is sensitive to direct sunlight, stains, and perspiration, and color change will occur with time due to use and the effect of light. Marks left by scars and insect bites are a natural feature of leather with a natural grain. Remember that furniture should be protected from direct sunlight and heating sources.
