In many cases, the white bumper from the original glide tube becomes lodged inside the spider tube. The spider tube is the black arm welded to the sofa's cylindrical steel support bar, where the old glide tube was removed. Each seat has two spider tubes.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"isSelectedEnd\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWe have found that a metal wire coat hanger works well for this task. Simply bend one end into a small hook and use it to pull out any remaining pieces trapped inside the spider tube.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"isSelectedEnd\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eFailure to remove all old components can prevent the new glide tube from seating properly.
